Iwan Rheon, the man who portrayed the villainous Ramsay Bolton on the HBO drama "Game of Thrones", has been chosen to play a lead role in the upcoming "Marvel's Inhumans" series. Rheon will play the role of Maximus, an Inhuman who is fully devoted to the people of Attilan and his brother, the King - although he secretly harbors a desire to rule Attilan himself.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Inhumans" will be focusing on the King Black Bolt and his royal family. The drama has been penned to run for eight episodes. "Dexter" alum, Scott Buck, will be writing the drama as well as serve as its executive producer and showrunner. Roel Reine will be directing the first two hours of the series which has been scheduled to premiere in 1,000 Imax theaters on Labor Day.

The drama will have a two-week run in theaters before it shifts to ABC as part of the TV network's official launch for the fall season. Marvel's Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb will also serve as executive producers for the upcoming drama, which is a collaboration between ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Leob says Iwan was chosen for the role because of his "ability to be charming, roguish and still completely dangerous." Showrunner Scott Buck also praised Rheon saying the actor's "considerable talent" made perfect for the role of Maximus, a character he describes as being completely complex.

Rheon's role as Maximus is a follow-up to "Game of Thrones" where he portrayed the insane Ramsay Bolton. Some of his other acting credits include "Misfits" and "Vicious".

According to IGN, the series is not meant to replace the the long-planned "Inhumans" film by Disney. However, it is still unclear how the movie will manage to work in conjunction with the show. The "Inhumans" were first introduced through Marvel comics in 1965 by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The story follows a diverse group of superhumans who each possess their own unique powers.
