Floyd Mayweather might be retired from boxing, but he has been showing plenty of signs that he is still ready to step in to the ring one more time as his highly awaited bout against UFC star Connor McGregor draws closer to fruition. The fight which has been called a "billion dollar bout" will be Mayweather's first bout in nearly 2 years since retiring from boxing for a second time.

On Tuesday, the retired boxer exchanged messages with McGregor over social media as reports had been surfacing that both parties had reached a verbal agreement on the financial terms of their fight. The reigning UFC lightweight champion took a trip to Las Vegas earlier this week which caused rumors to go around saying he was there to meet up with Mayweather to discuss the terms for their proposed boxing match.

The reality is McGregor went to Nevada to meet with the state commission to ask for another hearing regarding the punishment that was dealt to him as a result of the melee that occurred during the UFC 202 press conference. According to Fox Sports, McGregor was met with a $75,000 fine, $75,000 public service announcement and was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service for his involvement in the incident.

However, McGregor's recent visit to Nevada to clear up matters with the commission also means he could get a boxing license from the state. This could then move the dream match with Mayweather one step forward towards becoming a reality. Following this news, Mayweather called out McGregor through Twitter asking him to take care of his business so they can finalize their mega bout once and for all.

The rights to McGregor's combat sports career are held exclusively by the UFC meaning they would have to sign off on any of his fights that take place outside of the promotion, including his megafight with Mayweather. UFC President Dana White has offered to become involved in the negotiations so the bout could go through, but neither side has yet to come to an agreement.
