Camila Cabello surprised her fans and the Fifth Harmony supporters when she announced in December that she is leaving the group to go solo. Her decision even created an issue with her co-band members. The four other girls did not want her to leave and were making efforts to talk with her but they said she did not make efforts to talk with them.

The remaining members worked on their own but retained their band's name. The group was formed by Simon Cowell during their "X-Factor" days.

Cabello opted to go solo because she said that she cannot fully express herself with the band. According to Hollywood Life, her plan to leave Fifth Harmony has been a long time plan. The reason behind is that she cannot make the kind of music that she wants to. The band was not the maximum expression of her unique individuality. This time, she said, "My fans are really going to know me from the music I'm writing. My goal is to be brave and open up my soul."

This has been the reason why Zayn Malik left One Direction. Cabello wants to do music collaboration with her songwriting crush, 25-year-old Ed Sheeran.

She shared, that Sheeran is "incredible at putting love, emotion, and feeling into words." She added, "I would love to see him go into a room and watch how he makes his magic. He always talks about how he loves making songs from the heart, and that's something that I've pushed myself to do in my songwriting process, too."

So the constant chart topper was her inspiration and she is right about emulating the young hitmaker. Lately, his two new songs, "The Shape of You" and "Castle on a Hill" landed at the top 1 and top 2 of the chart as reported by Forbes.

When he makes music he is like lost from himself. He takes on a break from everything just to focus on his music. No wonder, almost all his releases are winners. Camila Cabello just wants to follow his footsteps.
