The drama between New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony and Phil Jackson continues, but this time Melo preferred to take the high road when discussing the tension between him and the team's president. Jackson recently took some subtle jabs at Melo on Twitter which makes it clear he is trying to drive the star out of New York.

Melo still has the upperhand though because of his no-trade clause - that is unless he changes his mind and decides to have that clause waived. According to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski, Anthony is not allowing Jackson to affect his game. As a matter of fact, Jackson's public campaign to convince Melo to waive his no-trade clause is only strengthening his desire to remain in New York.

Anthony has reportedly told his teammates about his desire to stay in New York as well. Simply put, Anthony refuses to let Phil Jackson run him out of the team. Three teams have been contacted by the Knicks regarding a possible trade involving Anthony: the Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, and Cleveland Cavaliers.

According to the Vertical, both the Cavs and Clippers have expressed some interest in acquiring Melo, but only if the trade involves packages that include role players. While Anthony has privately indicated his interest in listening to trade offers involving the three aforementioned teams, the Knicks have still not been able to find a trade package that they are willing to accept.

Per CBS Sports, all of this backs up Anthony's comments about how he is happy in New York despite the recent struggles that the team has been going through. However, he also mentioned he would not waive his no-trade clause unless Phil Jackson tells him the Knicks need to rebuild. Jackson has yet to tell Anthony this in a more direct manner and has instead opted to throw at hints through his Twitter account and other back channels, which is the reason why there is some tension between the two of them right now.
