Justin Bieber seems to be the new face of NHL as its official Instagram account showcases the singer with Wayne Gretzky while hanging out in the locker room.

According to NBC, Bieber got a shot of how it is to skate with the NHL greats at the NHL All-Star Celebrity Shootout on Saturday - and the pop star certainly got his chance to show off his athletic side at the exhibition game. This may not be a first for Bieber as he had experience skating with the Toronto Maple Leafs before but this one proves to be an entirely different experience; courtesy of former NHL Philadelphia Flyer, Chris Pronger.

Bieber was squashed to the boards by the "tough guy" NHL veteran Pronger, who seemed to be having fun and chuckling while he had the pop hotshot pinned against the glass. Chris Pronger was considered as a fierce defenseman back in the league with 18 years of rock-solid experience on ice. The singer-songwriter responded to the challenge and was able to steal an empty-net goal and an assist to beat Team Lemiux at 5-3 in favor of Team Gretzky in the NHL All Celebrity Game 2017.

Getting all rough on ice seemed natural for Bieber who did not look out of place when he stood by the current NHL star players like Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid together with other retired hockey greats.

Even though Bieber missed two penalty shots, he was able to retaliate and scored a goal in the nick of time. In an interview with Cuba Gooding Jr, National Post reports, "Twenty-five shots later, thank God he made it."I was shocked at how good the kid can play."

The pop star will be back on February 12 at the Staples Center (not for another hockey game) but to attend the Grammys, wherein Bieber is nominated to four categories which include "Song of the Year" and "Album of the Year."
