The Mobile World Congress will not be featuring Samsung's Galaxy S8, but another Korean tech conglomerate will be there to fill the gap, so to speak. LG will be unveiling its upcoming G6 Android smartphone on February 26.

The Verge was able to obtain some teaser photos of LG's flagship phone and have posted them on their website. The new phone will be featuring a 5.7 inch display screen and will have an aspect ratio of 2:1. The G6 has also put a huge emphasis on minimizing bezels. The screen-to-bezel ration of the upcoming phone will be less than 90 percent.

The G6 will not be featuring the modular design that the G5 had as the company will be looking to prioritize design more this year, according to Engadget. The Verge reports that the G6 will be made completely out of glass and metal, according to their sources. This is a complete departure from the plastic design incorporated by their previous smartphone models. It will also have a headphone jack and will be completely waterproof. However, its battery will not be replaceable.

Some components of the G5 will still be making their way to the G6. The G5's rear design as well as its center mounted finger sensor and dual camera system will all be making a return in the G6.

LG has yet to make the same kind of impact on the smartphone market as its rivals Samsung and Apple. They have not made any meaningful profits from their smartphone sales for years, and last year's G5 experiment did not turn as well as they had hoped. The G6 is, thus, going to be an important smartphone for LG as the company is hoping to finally make its mark in the market. We should be able to get more information about the phone once the company reveals it this February.
