"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is one of the strongest game in Nintendo Switch and its lineup. A lot of fans and non-fans alike are still skeptical with how the game will compare with today's standard RPG, especially "Skyrim," but apparently, the game takes the term "open-world" seriously, giving almost more than five times the size of the latter.

According to a recent information gathered and posted at Crave, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be one of the largest game to be released in terms of its exploration. Some analysis even points to the upcoming game's world map to be just a few percent smaller than "Xenoblade Chronicles X" and it's epic world.

As shown on the image, the map of "Skyrim" pales to compare with the Nintendo's upcoming open-world game. Based from the Eggplante's report, the game's map is roughly 360 square kilometres. In comparison, the map for "Skyrim" stretches out at 39 kilometres, which looks puny compared to Link's debut game on the Nintendo Switch.

The data gathered may not be spot on, but according to what Nintendo have told Polygon earlier with the game's demo, it only showed one percent of the map. This is supported by Nintendo's claim about "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" being 12 times bigger than the Wii titles "Twilight Princess."

All the figures are still to be taken as a grain of salt, given that no new revelations have been made by Nintendo as of yet. However, fans are hoping to see a game full of things to do rather than a big, but empty map that drags on later in the game. A good example would be "GTA V" and "Just Cause 2," where the map of the latter is significantly smaller, but had more activities, making the game more diverse.
