In the recent Nintendo Switch Presentation, a number of first party games were announced, including the eye-candy, "Mario Odyssey." However, no announcement of a new Mario racing game was made, but there was "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" and here's what fans need to know why this needs to be purchased for the Switch.

According to a report from Gamerant, while there isn't "Mario Kart 9" presented in table, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is still a title worthy of being added to future owners of the Nintendo Switch. It was originally released for the Wii U, but fans are, indeed, still anticipating the Switch version of the all-star racer for a number of reasons.

As confirmed by Nintendo, all the tracks from the original game will also be present in the Swtich version of the game, though there will be a host of other features exclusive to the upcoming hybrid console. Such features made Nintendo's game reiterations famous among its platforms.

As noted at IGN, there had been five new characters added so far, namely King Boo, Dry Bones, Bowser Jr. Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl (from Splatoons.) There are also some new karts, which specifically comes with the new characters such as the Splat Buggy, Ink Striker, Koopa Clown and Super Glider.

There have been some reports of additional modes as well, though details are yet to be revealed. However, new levels are also to be added like Urchin Underpass, Battle Stadium, Luigi's Mansion and Battle Course 1.

Finally, there are some major additional features in "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" like Dual Item Capacity. This lets player stock up to two items at a time and this adds another layer of strategy for fans. A beginner-friendly feature called Drive Assist will also be added, providing help to those less skilled in the game, but wish to enjoy it just as the more experienced ones.
