Besides the special events and highly awaited update that will finally bring about the Legendary Pokemon, fans have been given yet another reason to continue playing this game.

A new research suggests that active "Pokémon Go" players are three times more likely to meet official US activity guidelines. A report posted by Gamasutra says this has the potential to affect a player's life expectancy. What this means is playing the game can help increase your life expectancy. "If this user engagement is maintained, 'Pokémon Go' would have the potential to measurably affect US life expectancy", says the report.

The study is being carried out by researchers from the University of Stanford, who have gone on to say actively engaged users are more likely to increase their average daily activity by as much as 26 percent. According to the researchers, engaged users increase their activity by at least 1473 steps a day or an increase of 26 percent.

"If engagement with 'Pokémon Go' could be sustained over the lifetime of its many users, we estimate that the game would add an estimated 2.825 million years of additional lifetime to US users", added the researchers. "Pokémon Go" players are still awaiting the arrival of Legendary and Gen 2 Pokémon after the New Year event of the game had come to an end.

According to he Express, developer Niantic have been teasing the potential release of the next Pokémon Go update which many players hope will finally include the Legendary Pokémon. The mail sent out by Niantic read, "That's all for now. Look for another update from us in a few weeks."

Players were also advised to be on the lookout for a "special message" from Professor Willow. This has fans speculating that new Pokémon could be on their way to the game really soon.
