Ed Sheeran announces new music this coming Friday, January 6. After a long-awaited hiatus, fans get confirmation of his return to the public radar.

The last album of the 25-year-old Grammy award-winner was in June 2014 and was simply titled "X". It's two years now and no new albums have been released by the singer. Fans have always missed him and wished that his return would come sooner.

His announcement on December 2015 was what officially told the public that he was to go on a hiatus. "Taking a break from my phone, emails, and all social media for a while," was his statement when he wanted to go under the radar.

Sheeran's break was something he wanted as he thought that he was seeing the world through a screen. He was thankful for his successful five years, but this time he would be seeing the world with his own eyes.

Artists normally take a break from the public, especially when they get attention so fast in a short amount of time. Entertainment Weekly mentioned that he recently resurfaced on social media.

A simple light blue photo was posted on his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter account with fans asking if this would be a new album from Sheeran.

One photo had a "÷" sign on the image, fitting his last two albums. His 2014 album was titled "X" and his 2011 album was titled "+".

Mirror Online also mentions that a video was uploaded revealing that he has a new music coming on Friday. "New music coming Friday!!" was on the paper held by his mouth before it fell to the ground.

Most famous artists usually have a good album following their hiatus, as it usually relieves them from the stressful environment they are in. New music from Sheeran is what fans have been craving for, and they world would be hearing it this Friday.
