Gamers are anticipating these several games for the month of January 2017. The games are a mix of US releases, ports and new instalments for gamers to indulge.

To be released on January 17 is "Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star". Though the game is based on the anime "Fate/Stay night", it will have an independent story. The game was already released in Japan on November 10, 2016, but will only be available on January 17 for the US.

The game will only be set after the events of the 2010 game "Fate/Extra CCC". It will also follow the same system of a master and a spirit servant to battle different enemies.

Polygon mentions that the Nintendo 3DS port for "Dragon Quest 8: Journey of the Cursed King" would be available on January 20. The "Dragon Quest" series is a beloved series that first started on the NES.

This port would include two additional characters, new side quests, a fast-forward feature and an alternate ending. Players who have played the PS2 version would love the added features on the 3DS port.

Mirror Online has also mentioned their love for the upcoming "Resident Evil 7" on January 24. Demos have been strongly showing that the new installment would focus less on action and more on what made it great.

The new installment would focus more on providing a modern survival horror with a dash of "Silent Hill" vibe into it. It also has a PlayStation VR for added immersion.

January 30 would release "Disgaea 2" for the PC, it would be retitled as "Disgaea 2 PC" and would be compatible with Mac machines. The original "Disgaea" series was for the play station 2, but they recently ported "Disgaea: Hour of Darkness" to the PC.

All these are the famous games that are getting the desired port and sequel. These games for January 2017 are much anticipated by die-hard fans and casual gamers alike.
