The "Twin Peaks" revival is very much anticipated by fans in the U.S. as it is sure to return in 2017. It will be on its third season after a long hiatus. The last episode was shown 25 years ago.

CEO David Nevins announced four months ago that the new season will premiere in the first half of 2017. He also informed that the network is not going to go with the usual release pattern. This he has consulted with the writer-director, David Lynch.

Speaking about Lynch, he will reprise his role as Detective Gordon Cole based on the teaser trailer released. The cast for the revival is composed of Laura Dern, Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Balthazar Getty, and Robert Knepper. They will join the original actors of the series like James Marshall, Sherilyn Fenn, Kyle MacLachlan, and Sheryl Lee.

Though no release date was set for the "Twin Peaks" revival, a fan site dedicated to the show has shared some sort of a revelation as per NME. A photo of the 2017 Showtime calendar which has a mark on the April 30 date with a sign of the show was posted on the site. The succeeding month is also dedicated to the show. However, an official announcement has to be made yet.

Behind-the-scenes video from the "Twin Peaks" revival set was released three months ago. It includes roles of the original cast MacLachlan and Marshall. David Lynch was also behind the camera.

"Twin Peaks" was one of the greatest television dramas ever made as per its Wikipedia record. It was a consistent top-rated show of the 1990's however, as the show progresses, the ratings plummeted until it was eventually canceled.

The television show had both a prequel and an epilogue via a film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me" released in 1992. In October, 2014, it was announced that the series will return in 2017. It was referring to the upcoming "Twin Peaks" revival. Stay tuned for update on the release date of the show.
