The fantasy drama television series, "Game of Thrones" would premier its seventh installment in summer 2017. It was reported that the shooting of its upcoming season took much longer than its previous season despite of its fewer episodes compared to the preceding seasons.

Iain Glen revealed some information about this matter. Besides, he also said that the upcoming season has lots of exciting things to come.

There were two more seasons left in "Game of Thrones" before it would end. It was previously reported that season seven would be composed of seven episodes and season eight would have six episodes. The episodes of the last two seasons were fewer compared to its previous seasons that has ten episodes. Despite its fewer episodes, it was reported that the filming of the said show took too long.

"Game of Thrones" star Iain Glen who portrayed the character of Jorah Mormont revealed that the production team was spending much time on the next season of the said fantasy series. Besides, he told Radio Times that the scale and size of its upcoming season is being created to be more extraordinary.

"They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot ten episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year. There are fifteen more hours left in Thrones as we understand it, but that may change, but that's as far as we know.", Iain Glen said.

"I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created it's just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to ten.", he added.

On the other hand, as the news released by Winter Is Coming site, it was stated that there were more characters meeting up and it will be more intense on the final two season of "Game of Thrones."
