As the year 2016 came to an end, many "Pokemon Go" players are expecting to see a "Pokemon Go" New Year event. And the good news is, it is now live which is apparently a perfect New Year starter for players of the game.

The new update will make it easier to catch starter Pokemon or the Kanto region starters. Because of the increased spawn rate, the possibility to catch Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander is very high. Aside from that, a player can also get their hands on their evolved forms Ivysaur, Venusaur, Wartortle, Blastoise, Charmeleon, and Charizard.

Mirror reports that Lures will also last twice longer. This is used to attract Pokemon to your location. Hence, instead of 30 minutes, the Lure will last for one hour which means that one could get more Pokemon.

Niantic also released Bronze, Silver and Gold boxes that contain Incense, Lucky Eggs, Lure Modules, Pokeballs and Great Balls. The gift boxes could be purchased in the in-game shop.

According to iDigital Times, a Bronze box costs 460 coins which contain 100 PokeBalls and 8 Lure Modules, a Silver box costs 980 coins that comes with 8 Incense, 8 Lucky Eggs and 8 Lure Modules while a Gold Box can be bought at 2480 Coins which includes 50 Great Balls, 25 Incense, 25 Lucky Eggs, 16 Lure Modules.

"Pokemon Go" New Year event will last until January 8. With that, those who would like to get starter Pokemon should take advantage of this update. Aside from that, the holiday event is bound to end on January 3 which means that you still have the chance to get more incubators. Gamers also still have the opportunity to catch Generation 2 Pokemon which includes Pichu and Togepi.

Are you excited to get your starter Pokemon? Take advantage of this event as well as the holiday update where you can still get Gen 2 Pokemon.
