Both the "Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X" and "Samsung Galaxy S8" are expected to be making their debuts on the upcoming CES 2017 this January. Recently leaked information regarding both handsets indicate a fierce competition in the smartphone industry.

Samsung is possibly going to make a huge attempt in bringing back its lost glory as the "Samsung Galaxy S8" is bound to rectify the imperfections of the "Note 7" and even a huge upgrade from S7 as per GSMArena's preliminary spec sheet.

The "Samsung Galaxy S8" is believed to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor chipset and an Exynos 8895 Octa-core processor. This is also possibly going to be backed by an 8GB RAM, though varied sizes may also be released later.

However, Xiaomi isn't letting Samsung hog all the action as a recent report from Gadgets 360 indicates Xiaomi preparing the "Redmi Note 4X" to join the phablet wars later after the CES 2017 event. While it isn't final, analysts suggest that the "Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X" will be powered by 2GHz deca-core CPU.

Both the "Samsung Galaxy S7" and "Xiaomi Redmi Note 3" were released back in the first quarter of 2016 and while Samsung's former flagship had the advantage in terms of numbers, the Redmi Note 3 became more popular in several review and community sites due to its competitive performance and extremely accessible price. The same could be the case with the "Redmi Note 4X."

However, a lot of key specs for the "Galaxy S8" aren't officially revealed yet, giving Samsung more leeway in dominating the smartphone market next year. One unconfirmed feature is the GPU. If a particular report from Android Central proves to be accurate, the Samsung "Galaxy S8" might sport the Mali-G71 GPU and this would make 4K and VR gaming possible as well as a potential 864 ppi screen dots. The camera is still going to be Samsung's stronger points with S8's 4K video recording capability and dual lens setup.

For those who have started saving up for these phones, the "Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X" might be an ideal choice for those looking for sheer processing power without the requirement of a 4K experience or some unreal picture and camera quality. Otherwise, the "Samsung Galaxy S8" is literally going to be some serious "eye-candy" if all speculated figures turn out to be final.
