Previously known as AMD Zen, the early benchmark of AMD Ryzen was leaked online which shows impressive specs. After the leak, the AMD Ryzen proves that it could be at par with the Intel Core i7.

The leaked benchmark came from French tech magazine Canard PC which was able to test an engineering Sample of the CPU. Said processor has a base clock of 3.15GHz and a boost clock of 3.4GHz with 8 cores running.

The benchmark results were compared to that of Intel Core i7-6900K while different rendering programs were running on the Ryzen CPU. But according to Digital Trends, its gaming benchmarks are not as good as it comes in between Core i5 6500 and the i5 6600. It was calculated based on the usage of games which include Far Cry 4, Grid: Autosport,X3: TC, Arma III, BF4, The Witcher 3, and Anno 2070.

According to Guru of 3D, the CPU benchmarks show that the AMD processor, which is codenamed 2D3151A2M88E4 exceeded the performance of Intel’s Core i7 6800K. It added that its performance isn't far from that of Intel Core i7 6900K either.

The power consumption was also benchmarked taken from the amperemeter clamp on the ATX 12V connector at full load. It was estimated that the CPU consumes under 90W which is very close to that of a 6900K. AMD Ryzen is at 93W which is faster that the core and below the FX-8370.

The leaked benchmark proves that the Ryzen can actually compete with Intel's Core i7. Although this is not official, many are still looking forward for the release of the processor especially that the result of the benchmarking was impressive.

AMD Ryzen could still be a few months away and many are anticipating on what it could offer. This new processor is considered a huge leap for AMD as they could already be compared to that of Intel's processor. But while Ryzen isn't out yet, everything needs to be taken as a grain of salt.
