Since the start of December, a lot of people have planned to go out of town this month given that there are a lot of holidays and free days from both school and work. In order for people to enjoy their scheduled trips more, here are five travel tips applicable to your winter adventure!

1.    Anticipate heavy traffic. Leave at least an hour early.

Holiday Season brings additional traffic on the road that is why you need to leave a bit earlier than usual. If you have a flight scheduled at around 4:00 PM, it is best to leave latest at 1:00 PM to ensure that you will not be left by your plane. Remember that it is better to be early than late in airports

2.    Learn how to pack light.

You might be going out for three days and more, but it does not mean that you should bring a large luggage with you. Get all your light things, lay them all on your bed, and start folding them thoroughly. Make sure that it will fit the average size bag that you prepared for your out of town, as also emphasized by Travel Sense.

3.    Grab a winter safety kit.

Normal first aid kit will not be enough given the winter season. Make sure you have something that can solve your winter-affected skin, and the other minor accidents that may come into your way. Better be prepped than sorry!

4.    Keep your body hydrated.

Clean up one of your water bottles and find a space inside your bag for it. Make sure you will keep yourself hydrated while on the trip. Cold weather is just like summer; it can make your feel dry if you do not drink enough liquid.

5.    Carry extra batteries.

Nowadays, people would document all the things-departure, arrival, and everything in between. With that, we have to ensure that we have battery packs that are well charged to keep our devices on. Also, keeping your phones charge will add up to your safety kits since you can keep your parents and other people in touch with your whereabouts.

It is the holiday season, so it is important that we put more priority on our safety. No one wants to celebrate Christmas with someone unwell.
