NBA Rumors: Hassan Whiteside Could Solve The Minnesota Timberwolves' Frontcourt Problems; Miami Heat Getting Young Talents In Return

The Miami Heat could be in this season's NBA rumors and the team is planning on shopping its big man Hassan Whiteside. Recently, the Minnesota Timberwolves also expressed its interests in landing a big man to boost its frontcourt and it appears that a possible trade between the two teams could happen.

According to Fox Sports, the Heat would probably be active in this season's trade market. With the team's current record of 9-19, there's a slight chance that they would make it to the playoffs. It appears that a rebuild for the Heat franchise is inevitable which led to such NBA trade rumors involving Whiteside.

Whiteside is currently the Heat's main man as he averages 17.6 PPG, 14.8 RPG, and 2.3 BLKPG. Despite putting some big numbers this season, the Heat just don't have that much talent making them the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference. The only option for the team now is to start all over.

Whiteside is the most attractive trade piece that the Heat could give away that would give the franchise draft picks or young talents in return. In a report by ESPN, the Timberwolves are looking for some frontcourt help and they might offer a good package for Whiteside.

There are a few possible scenarios for these NBA trade rumors to happen. One valid trade scenario would be sending Ricky Rubio and Nikola Pekovic to the Heat while the Timberwolves get Whiteside. Another valid deal would be sending Zach Lavine and Nikola Pekovic to the Heat.

But if the Heat plans on rebuilding, getting the Lavine and Pekovic package would be the most ideal trade scenario. Lavine has been showing some signs of growth and could be a potential star in the next few years.

Currently, Lavine's averages are 20.8 PPG, 3.2 APG and 3.1 RPG which are very promising stats for a rebuilding team. There's still time for these two teams to strike a deal for these NBA trade rumors to happen.
