Megaman is a long franchise of action platformer games published by Capcom. The first of its series was released in 1987 and was available on arcades and on the NES platform.

The game features its titular character Megaman as the playable avatar. Players get to choose different locations with themes that match the boss on the last part of the stage.

After beating a stage, players get a permanent equipment that they could then use on the other stages. More advanced players have developed sequences as to which bosses to fight before proceeding to a specific stage.

The game gained iconic notoriety for its difficulty on some stages. However, the payoff on a certain stage is enough to push a player to finish it. Fans kept asking for sequels after sequels until one of series' most awaited instalment was cancelled. Keiji Inafune - one of its leading game designers stated how disappointed he was on how Megaman was cancelled.

Keiji Inafune then started a kickstarter to fund a version of megaman that would stay true to the essence of the series. Fans have supported such a decision and the project reached its goals with so much more to spare.

Recently, Capcom has announced that they would port the original 6 NES games onto the mobile device. These were the classic games that fans considered to be the iconic cornerstone of the series.

Each game would cost $2 and would be available for both Android devices and iOS devices. Other Capcom games have already been ported to mobile devices, these would be the first in the Megaman franchise.

The series would be released in Japan during January 6 just a few days fresh from the holidays. The first game is named Megaman Mobile up to Megaman 6 Mobile to reduce confusion with the other installments.
