Britons will be able to fly directly to Perth, Australia in longest commercial passenger flight in the whole world. Qantas Australian airline is launching the 17 hour non-stop daily flight from Heathrow airport in London to Western Australia's Perth using revolutionary jetlag-busting planes.

According to Mirror news, it is the first regular direct flight between the two countries, in which there's no need to stop for refueling just like in Bangkok, Dubai and Singapore. The flight's 9,061 "Kangaroo Route" is said to beat the world's current longest record distance of 8,875 miles, which takes 16 hours and 35 minutes Emirates flight from Dubai to New Zealand's Auckland.

Announcing it, the chief of Qantas Alan Joyce said that when Qantas airline first created the Kangaroo Route between London and Perth in 1947, it took a total of four days and nine stops. But now, it will only take just 17 hours from London to Australia non-stop. This is a game-changing aircraft to fly a game-changing route. Before, travelers from Europe have never had direct links Down Under, so the chances this opens for them to travel Australia are huge," the Qantas chief added.

The Kangaroo Route will operate starting on March 2018 with the use of the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft that is largely made from non-metal materials. The aircraft focuses mainly on the comfort of passengers as it has improved air quality, turbulence reduction technology, and lower cabin noise. The high-end aircraft also aids to combat jetlag with the use of more natural light, lower cabin pressure, and moister air.

According to the Metro, both countries hope the journey will increase tourism both in London and in the Western Australian capital. Qantas airline and Australian tourist chiefs hope Britons will fly to Perth first and spend time exploring the area in order to adapt to the eight hour time difference.
