Doughnut burgers may seem a bit odd for some but they are certainly something to look forward to in Israel. Burger King Israel will finally release the unique Doughnut Whopper this Hanukkah. This is certainly something to be excited to in the upcoming holidays in Israel.

In celebration of 2016 Hanukkah, Burger King Israel will offer a limited-edition "SufganiKing," which is a mash-up of a doughnut and whopper, according to Fox News. This burger sandwiched jelly donuts called sufganiyot, which Jewish normally eat during Hanukka in Israel during the Festival of Lights.

SufganiKing is a play on the words "sufganiyot" and "king." The burger still contains features normally present in Burger King's famous Whopper such as the quarter-pound beef patty, fresh tomatoes, and lettuce. It is still topped with selected condiments such as sliced onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayonnaise.

With the same Whoppers signature ingredients, the only difference with the SufganiKing is the sesame-sprinkled buns are replaced with doughnuts, according to Food and Wine. However, ketchup will be added into the doughnuts instead of its usual jelly filling.

"This matching of two popular Israeli food items was inevitable for us," Burger King CEO Steve Ben Shimol told Ynet. "We're proud to be able to end 2016 on a creative, festive note," he further added.

Burger King Israel is offering this savory version of a doughnut bun, still cooked deep-fried but filled with ketchup rather than a fruit jelly. This treat will go well with the rest of the Whopper's original ingredients. It will be offered in Burger King fast food branches in Israel from the first day of Hanukah on Dec. 25, 2016, to its last day on Jan. 1, 2017. The Burger King Israel SufganiKing will be available for NIS 14.90 or about $3.90 each. This is certainly a treat this holidays regardless if you are a donut lover or not.
