Many passengers already got used to taking flights which doesn't offer any complimentary meals. If they want something to eat, they need to order from the available menu on the plane. But good news to passengers who are flying economy on US carries since Delta Airlines will bring back its free meals for routes between California and New York.

While many airlines offer free snacks to its passengers, it is only the Hawaiian Airlines that offer complimentary meals to their passengers for all classes. This time, Delta is set to join the Hawaiian Airlines in giving free meals to everyone.

“During the test period, customer satisfaction scores will be closely monitored to determine the impact on the in-flight experience," said Catherine Sirna from the corporate communications of Delta Airlines.

Not all flights will be part of the test but for those who will luckily take the flights that are included in the test, they will avail of complimentary meals. Said meals will include a Honey Maple Breakfast Sandwich or Luvo Breakfast Medley for morning flights. For afternoon flights, they can choose between a Mesquite Turkey Combo with chips and a brownie or a Luvo Mediterranean Whole Grain Veggie Wrap which is served with grape and a cookie.

Additional details about the free meals will be revealed once the test is over. Free meals will be offered until Dec. 15 for flights between JFK Airport in New York City and Los Angeles and San Francisco airports, Time reports.

For sure, this will encourage passengers to ride with Delta Airlines because of the perks they are offering to their passengers even for those who are riding economy class. Aside from the meals, there are also changes to the airline's in-flight snacks.

Beginning December 4, the usual brand of peanuts and pretzels will be replaced. They will serve Snyder’s of Hanover pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars, Travel and Leisure reports. Another good news is that the snacks will be served more frequently. While the peanuts and pretzels brand will get a new taste, their signature Biscoff cookies will still be part of the in-flight snacks.

“Nearly all of Delta’s 180 million customers enjoy our snack offerings each year, which is why, in the future, we’re also going to look at ways to let them help choose our next lineup,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s senior vice president of in-flight service.

The decision of switching snacks is a response to the feedback of their customers and employees. It is also possible that there are more switching of snacks in other occasions.
