Delta Air flight attendants and ground workers are getting a raise in April 2017 as a way of company's giving back for their near record profit. This news was just announced last Nov. 15 by the company.

Delta Air CEO Ed Bastian, stated a memo that eligible flight attendants and ground workers are getting a 6 percent raise effective on April 1, 2017. Delta will also increase their employee's retirement contribution to 3% and continue dollar-per-dollar matching on the initial 6 percent of their eligible earnings.

"I'm proud to say that Delta has led the industry in compensation increases for our employees the last several years and has set the standard for other airlines to follow," said Bastian. "We are delighted to be able to continue to share the rewards of your hard work with you. It's well deserved."

According to Delta, also have their profit sharing program, which helped the company to maintain an industry-leading total compensation for their employees. It has been noted that the airline employees, including 18.5 percent increase, have seen their a 25 percent increase in their base pay over two years.

Delta Air employees previously received 18.5 percent pay raise last 2015 after the change in company's profit sharing formula. The change may affect the payout of their employees and the raise is make up for any potential loss.

However, not all employees are eligible for the April 2017 raise. The remaining Delta Air employees such as administrative workers, flight dispatchers, management executes will get their a merit-based raise drawn from a 6 percent funds.

Delta pilots are not included for the raise. But, the group is voting on a proposed new contract that allows pilots pay to increase 18 percent to cover the losses from previous years.
