Starbucks had just announced that its traditional red cup for this year will be totally different from what they have done before. For the past holiday seasons, they only came up with 1 design but this time, the brand will have 12 different red cups plus one cold drink cup. What is exciting about this year is that, each cup was designed by customers from around the world and from all walks of life. Starbucks said in a statement that the cup collection "expresses the shared spirit of the season."

According to Popsugar, on November 9 at a New York event to launch the new red cups, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz admitted the backlash the brand had received last year for their red cup he said, "Unbeknownst to us, there are a number of people who decided that Starbucks perhaps was not in the Christmas spirit.

That created quite a storm." A year ago, the brand released a plain red cup for the world to use that as a canvas to share their stories and received quite a number of designs. Within eight days, 1,200 submissions of beautiful drawings done in white, were given to Starbucks under the hashtag #RedCupArt said Popsugar.

Nature and seasonal traditions drew inspiration for their new Holiday cup collection. Some of the designs are bold and graphic and some "evoke the feeling of an old fashioned storybook," said in a statement by Starbucks.
