If you are not feeling lazy this weekend and your feet are itching, why not cook up a nice getaway for you and your loved ones. Here are some unconventional things you can do to make your day-off a memorable one.

1. Organize a small reunion

You do not have to go miles away to relax, just look for a new café or restaurant. Search for the city's best and must-visit food haven, TripAdvisor, Yelp and OpenTable are there to guide you. Bring along friends, hosting an impromptu mini-reunion is a good idea to spend weekend.

2. Plan a Family Vacation

Everybody loves a good deal, sites like Travelzoo, LivingSocial and Groupon offer discounts on travel packages, exclusive dining and other fun activities that can translate to significant savings or loyalty points. Make your day productive by planning a vacation with your family using these websites; feeling generous without breaking your piggy bank.

3. Movie marathon

When was the last time you have a chit-chat with your best friends? It's your time to make "time" with them. If your budget is on a diet, you can ask them to stay in your place for overnight movie marathon or turn on the karaoke and sing your hearts out. Who says you need money to be happy, well, not always.

4. Couchsurfing

Travelling solo? Go ahead and meet new friends along the way. You can try couchsurfing, find a host and stay as a guest. Meet new travelers and expand your circle. You can download Couchsurfing Travel App on your device for easier transaction.

One of the avid member said, "When I was traveling solo around Europe this summer, I used Couchsurfing to meet new people. Zack was at the weekly Couchsurfing event in Barcelona and I feel so lucky to have met him! I enjoyed our conversations about life, and he showed me the best shop to grab an authentic batido milkshake. After just a few short days of hanging in the city, I felt as though I had known him for years."

5. Reflect

It's your time to reflect and thank the good Lord for the blessings you have received. Why not join a church activity. Learn new talent by joining music or worship group. You can learn how to sing, dance, and play musical instruments instructed by anointed music pastors. You can also come along with them during camping and retreats.
