Before Westworld was released on HBO, various publications had already considered it as the next Game of Thrones. However, none of them mentioned a possible crossover between the two.

As Westworld continued to draw viewers, it also gained the attention of well-known authors like George R.R. Martin.

Independent says that the said TV series refers to the 1973 sci-fi film of the same name. In that basis, there are many  android-filled theme parks, including Roman World and Medieval World.

According to The Huffington Post, it was Martin who suggested the idea of a crossover to Westworld's showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy when they had dinner a couple months ago. The Game of Thrones author also believes that the crossover may feasibly happen.

"We love George and our daughter's first trip anywhere in the world was out to Santa Fe for a screening of The Prestige at his theatre, the Jean Cocteau," Nolan said. "He's a lovely guy and a stunning writer and it's flattering he would encourage a crossover. We should be so lucky."

For Joy, her problem is: "I need to be believe that dragons are real. I want them be a real thing. So as much as I love George, I can't lose that for myself!" Nolan also added that there's an "awful lot of material to cover just with Westworld."

Earlier, Nolan also said something about the possibility of featuring other android parks in the upcoming seasons of Westworld, but they likely won't be Roman World and Medieval World.

However, they can still change their mind and consider the crossover idea since Game of Thrones takes place in a mythical medieval world and Westworld, as stated above, features a park with medieval robots. Fans are suggesting that the medieval robots can be the characters in Game of Thrones.

Though there are no official statement regarding the crossover, Nolan says, "Stay tuned."
