WhatsApp has introduced its new features, including new editing and drawing tools to customize images and videos.

Android and Whatsapp Web users can now personalize their images and videos by using text, doodles and emojis. The added updates let the user customize both new and old media, whether it be clips or photos on your camera roll or those taken while you are in WhatsApp, Digital Trends reported.

To use the latest feature, you have to select a photo or video. Then a number of new icons will appear across the top of the screen which allow you to edit the photo or video. Apart from this, the font and color of the captions can also be changed.

Furthermore, the messaging service also supports front-facing flash of Android phone, in which you can take a perfect selfie both in low light and at night.Other features added are "the ability to zoom when recording videos by sliding your finger up and down the screen, and double-tap to switch between front and rear cameras. WhatsApp says all the new tools will be available for iPhone soon."

According to Independent.co.uk, WhatsApp's new version is the latest move by Facebook to copy some of the rival's biggest features. The messaging app has been criticized in the past for borrowing features from Snapchat.

"The moves often help Facebook bring popular Snapchat features to places in the world that Snapchat hasn't launched yet. Last week, for instance, Facebook appeared to be testing a feature called Messenger Day in Poland that includes disappearing messages - Snapchat's central feature, but the first time anything of the kind has been available in the country."

Independent added that WhatsApp's blog did not acknowledge any kind of influence from Snapchat, instead it only introduced the new updates as "new ways to customize and enhance the photos and videos you share with friends and family around the world".
