Sage Moonblood Stallone, the 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone, was found dead in his home in Los Angeles on Friday.

According to TMZ, a rep for Sage's father said, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever."

Police officers were called to the house at 2:17 p.m. to do a "welfare check" because someone hadn't been able to get in touch with him, reports the New York Post. There were no signs of foul play or forced entry.

"It sounds like a terrible tragedy. He was way too young to die," said Andrew Smith, the LAPD Commander, to People's website.

Although sources have said that there were pills at the house and that Stallone's death was likely due to those pills, Smith said that those reports are premature. "It could have been a heart attack or a stroke," he said. He also told People that "the coroner's office will likely spend several weeks on a toxicology report before it can reach any such conclusion."

Sage's attorney, George Braunstein, said that Sage's housekeeper was the person who initially found him dead. "(Sage) was full of life, a wonderful, loving person," Braunstein told People. "The last time I talked to him a few days ago he was saying he was getting married, he had a lot of things he was working on and seemed very enthusiastic. There was no indication there was any problem." In an interview with the Post, he expanded. "I am just devastated," he said. "This is a tragedy.”

Sage's mother is Sylvester's ex-wife Sasha Czack. He was best known for his role as Rocky's son Robert Balboa in Rocky V. He shared the screen with his dad again in 1996's Daylight.
