Adults often remark about how quickly kids grow up. Children have their own cell phones at 10 years old, parents are urging their 14-year-old daughters to get breast implants, and don’t forget that Suri Curise was wearing heels when since was about 3.

Now, some believe that a onesie for 18-month-old girls is the center of controversy for the bikini-clad (more mature) female body pictured on the front. The outfit, made my Wild Child, has parents in Southaven, MS “outraged and…doing double takes,” according to the Action News 5 website. While some of the parents questioned about their feelings said it was “very inappropriate” or “ridiculous,” another woman responded by saying, “I just don’t take offense to that at all.”

The reader comments are also divided. Some people say that those who find the outfit inappropriate should simply choose not to buy it for their child, and suggest that the onesie isn’t worth such an uproar. Other commenters express concerns about hyper-sexualization and pedophiles.

As the Huffington Post points out, this isn’t the first incident of children’s clothing that has caused a stir. Last year, a store in Colorado called “Kids N Teen” was selling crotchless underwear, and another store was selling lingerie to "filles" and "femmes" (read: “very young children” in French).

The point can be made that parents are the people that choose to purchase these items for their children, and since the kids are obviously to young to be sexually mature at that point, it’s something of a quirky joke. You can decide for yourself if these close are cute or crass.
