Will YouTube already be lagging behind now that Amazon and Facebook are trying to get the eyeballs that it once is lording over? Let us try to weigh the pros and cons of each app.

Amazon Video

This is the newbie in the video content block. Amazon launched it in May 2016.

Pros: Viewers would most likely watch more original content. They're trying to bump up the quality of the content by offering an addition USD$1 million to top contributors on the site.

Cons: It still needs to introduce itself to the video-watching masses. As of now, when you ask an avid online watcher where they watch their videos, they'd most like mention YouTube.

Facebook

Facebook now encourages original creators to post their videos on their apps.

Pros:  When it comes to delivering the number of viewers, Facebook delivers. When an original creator posts a viral video on Facebook, achieving a million views is easier compared to YouTube. Viewers can simply "share" the video on their Facebook wall.

Cons: Facebook has no clear plan on how original creators could cash in those views. Popularity through viewers is good but a creator still needs to earn money.

YouTube

YouTube has been so popular you'd hear modern singers incorporate the app's name on their songs. Is it still the lord of video apps though?

Pros: Since it is one of the oldest sites in terms of providing original video content, it is no surprise that there are a million creators on this site. Viewers have more choices here than in any other content applications.

Cons: YouTube has already been saturated with video-makers. Other original content providers have jumped off to Amazon. Still, people are opting to view the latest viral video trends on this site.

From the looks of it, YouTube is still king of all video-making sites. We hope that the people behind it would do something though as to prevent other apps to take its master seat.
