Each year, the respected 21 member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) take turns to serve as the APEC Chair as well as host the APEC Meetings. The APEC Chair handles a particular lead in guiding the development and direction of the APEC in terms of the content of cooperation and nature of the process.

"Building Inclusive Economies, Building a Better World" is the theme constructed under the leadership of the Philippines. Hence, the overall subject of APEC 2015 is the promotion and advancement of inclusive growth in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) that is happening on November 18-19 at Manila, Philippines, 800 highway patrollers, 18,000 Metro Manila police members and 300 BMWs will be deployed and utilized. These 300 units of BMW 7 series is sponsored by the automobile company, BMW and will serve as transportation of APEC senior officials and ministers. US President, Obama and Russian President, Putin were reported to be the only ones that will be bringing their own cars.

Presently, MMDA or the Metro Manila Development has issued an advisory of the "stop and go" scheme to the public. According to the advisory, "Whenever economic leaders pass by these areas, all traffic will be stopped. Traffic will resume once the leaders have gone through". This advisory becomes effective Sunday.

On the other hand, Motorists on EDSA, Skyway, South Luzon Expressway and Roxas Boulevard as well as roads around the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will go through the said scheme from November 15 to 20, respectively. This will give way to leaders passing through the areas. Further preparations include alternative routes for the public, road closures and APEC lanes for the delegates.

The Philippine Inquirer announced that the country's security is in its height for the upcoming event. APEC summit 2015 will be attended by 10,000 delegates from the 21 economies. Additionally, Interior Secretary Mel Sarmiento and PNP Director General Ricardo Marquez said that the security task force for the meetings has prepared for "all potential threats."

Spokesperson of the National Capital Region Police Office, Chief Insp. Kimberly Molitas, also reported earlier that hotels have been thoroughly screened. In addition, approximately 100 policemen will be on full alert on each of the hotels where leaders of state or governments will be staying.
