'Mad Max: Fury Road' is giving a bloody fight at the box office, and though it didn't maintain a solid top-spot streak, it still managed to earn an impressive $45 million on its opening weekend. Hence, it's not surprising if a sequel is going to happen. However, the rumor mill is filled with speculations that actress Charlize Theron won't be back for the sequel because she is having a feud with lead actor Tom Hardy.

The action-packed movie opened strongly with fans giving it a big thumbs up. Not only that, Rotten Tomatoes has also been very generous in giving 'Mad Max' a 98% fresh rating. In the coming weeks, the movie is expected to do well.

Because of the film's success, writer-director George Miller has already announced via Collider that he is writing the screenplay for a sequel that is yet to be officially given a go signal by Warner Bros.

Miller recently revealed that the sequel of the apocalyptic franchise is titled 'Mad Max: The Wasteland.'

"We've got one screenplay and a novella," Miller added.. "It happened because with the delays [on 'Fury Road'] and writing all the backstories, they just expanded."

Unfortunately, sources claim Theron, who plays the well-received Imperator Furiosa, is not at all eager to return for the sequel because of her feud with her co-star Tom Hardy, who plays Max.

Although no one can confirm that there's really bad blood between Theron and Hardy, the actress recently told Esquire about her disappointment on not having a proper script while they were already shooting the action-packed film.

"We f*ckin' went at it, yeah. And on other days, he and George [Miller, the director] went at it. It was the isolation, and the fact that we were stuck in a rig for the entire shoot. We shot a war movie on a moving truck - there's very little green screen. It was like a family road trip that just never went anywhere," Theron said.

She then added: "We never got anywhere. We just drove. We drove into nothingness, and that was maddening sometimes. And it's material that's really frightening - we didn't have a script. Tom and I are actors who take our jobs seriously. Both of us want to please the directors we work with, and when you don't know if you can deliver on that, it's a frightening place to be - and for Tom more than me, because he was stepping into big shoes."

'Mad Max: Fury Road' reportedly took more than three years to finish, and given the bumps that the actors are reportedly experiencing now, the sequel, 'Mad Max: The Wasteland,' could also take as much time to be realized.
