Natalie Portman stunned in Dior as she appeared at the at the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival Saturday afternoon for her directorial debut, "A Tale Of Love And Darkness." Her appearance Saturday is her first appearing as a director as well as a star.

Despite being at home on the Cannes red carpet, she still made sure that critics will be nothing but impressed with her look attending the premiere of her film.

Natalie Portman looked incredibly flawless wearing an elegant gown from Dior Couture's spring-summer 2015 collection, made up of an an A-line skirt in black-patterned pale blue silk and a black strapless bodice, reported the Associated Press.

She paired her look with a smooth, pulled-back hair and white diamond De Grisogono earrings.

Walking at the red carpet ahead of the film's screening, Natalie Portman was radiant while surrounded by her cast and crew.

Natalie Portman's work as a director in "A Tale Of Love And Darkness" has already been called "her love letter to Israel" by reviewers. All in all, the film received lukewarm reviews, according to the Daily Mail.

"A Tale of Love and Darkness" is based on the memoir of writer and journalist Amos Oz, while growing up in the newly formed Israeli state of Jerusalem during the '40s and '50s.

Oz's family was said to be one of numerous Jewish families who escape persecution in the 1903s and 1940s by moving to Palestine from Europe.

Natalie Portman, who directed the film, also starred as Oz's profound and inspired mother. The movie featured the family in 40 days in Jerusalem and the northern regions of Israel.

The late Mike Nichols helped the "Black Swan" star with the film, according to Variety.

Natalie Portman is Israel-born. She lived there until she was three, before her family migrated to the Unites States.

Though she has started exploring with directing, it doesn't mean that the 33-year-old "Star Wars" actress has already given up on acting. On Thursday, Deadline reported that the Oscar winner will be playing Jackie Kennedy in a bio film to be directed by Pablo Larrain.

The Chilean director's film will follow Jackie's life during the first four days following the assassination of her husband, President John. F. Kennedy, who was killed in Dallas, Texas November 22, 1963.

"Jackie," the film, produced by "Black Swan" director Darren Aronofsky, will begin production by the end of the year.

Natalie Portman will also be starring alongside Johnny Depp and Lily-Rose Paradis in the film "Planetarium." She will also be appearing as a futuristic biologist who will be sent into an abandoned, mysterious forest in the sci-fi horror "Annihilation."

There are recent claims of Natalie and her choreographer husband, Benjamin Millepied, 37, wanting to expand their family. Millepied and Portman moved to France due to his position as director of the Paris Opera Ballet. The couple has one son, Aleph, born in 2011.

Natalie Portman "has decided now is the best time to add to the family, and she usually has the final say," says a source from In Touch Weekly.
