Madonna Kanye West - There could only be one Madonna, but the famous artist recently acknowledged another artist who comes close. Madonna's Kanye West  praise was revealed in her recent interview with the New York Daily News, telling the paper she sees some of herself in the rapper.

"Kanye is the new Madonna," the singer told the New York Daily News in the new interview. "Kanye is the black Madonna."

Madonna has collaborated with Kanye on three songs for her "Rebel Heart" album, which will be released Tuesday, according to ABC News.

After Madonna's Kanye West praise, the "Ghosttown" performer also highlighted her and Kanye's mutual love for pushing boundaries.

"We know, and recognize, that we have that in common," said Madonna of her and the controversial rapper's similarity. "We're comrades in the envelope-pushing genre."

Madonna's Kanye West praise comes after their collaboration on her latest album, who's featured particularly as a producer on her talked-about track called "Illuminati." Apart from West, the album "Rebel Heart" also includes cameos from Nicki Minaj, Mike Tyson, and Chance The Rapper.

In the album, there are reportedly other more emotional songs with references to the singer's past.

"There's a lot of reminiscing on this album," she told the newspaper. "I've been doing what I've been doing for over three decades, so in many ways I feel like a survivor. I see that many of my peers, and friends, and people I collaborated with are no longer with us. That gave me pause. I said, 'Wow, I can't believe I made it this far.' That was a catalyst for me."

The record, featuring the Madonna Kanye West collaborations, came at an appealing time for Madonna. She said she began writing the songs after breaking up "with somebody."

The star's latest serious relationship was with Brahim Zaibat, a dancer 30 years her junior, according to Us Magazine.

Despite Madonna's Kanye West praise, it doesn't mean the singer is giving up the spotlight. The 56-year-old continues to challenge society's norms, including aging.

"People have always judged me, and given me s*** about one thing or another. Now they're giving me s*** about age," said Madonna who received flack after showing much of her backside at the Grammys.

"I take care of myself. I'm in good shape. I can show my ass when I'm 56, or 66 -- or 76," said the single mom, who credited her active lifestyle for saving her from injuries after her accident at the Brit Awards. "Who's to say when I can show my ass? It's sexism. It's ageism. And it's a kind of discrimination."
