An American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall was stabbed to death Monday after an alleged altercation with a Burga-clad woman. The American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall was reportedly stabbed inside the ladies' toilets at a supermarket in Boutik Mall on Reem Island in the United Arab Emirates capital.

According to Gawker, the island is a popular expat destination a few miles off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Local police said that before the stabbing incident, witnesses saw the American mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall and her killer arguing in the public restroom. The 37-year-old victim, identified only as ARB, is a kindergarten teacher divorced from the father of her twin boys.

The American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall worked at a private school in Abu Dhabi and was living with her sons in the city, reports the Daily Mail. Her ex-husband, believed to be overseas, is already on his way to the island to comfort his sons.

In the meantime, the two children of the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall have been placed in the care of the Community Police.

"The Community Police will be providing the children with shelter and other needs pending the arrival of their father (the victim's ex-husband) from abroad. The father will be received by the Community Police, who will also cater to the needs of the victim's family," Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police said Tuesday.

It remains unknown whether the boys of the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall were with her at the time of the killing.

A restaurant employee told the UAE website the National that she overheard the fight prior to the attack.

"I heard one of them threatening the other saying 'Sit down or I'll kill you'," detailed the employee.

The employee added that she also heard banging sounds from the stall.

"I heard one of them try to call out for help. By this time there were three of us outside the toilet and one of us ran to get security. When the female security guard arrived they told us to leave the bathroom. I was so scared and frightened for her," explained the employee of what she heard prior to the stabbing incident of the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall.

"Police found the woman lying on the floor bleeding. She had serious wounds after being stabbed with a knife during a brawl with the attacker," said Borshid. "No reason has been established yet as to why the woman was murdered. The attacker fled the scene after stabbing the woman."

The American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall was taken to Sheikh Khalifa Medical City for treatment. However, she later died from injuries sustained in the Monday afternoon incident.

According to Bourshid, a murder investigation is already underway. Police are still in search of the suspect who had the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall.

"The police are investigating to uncover the crime's causes and motives and to arrest the culprit," Borshid said. "The Abu Dhabi Police will spare no effort in order to unveil this heinous crime and bring the culprit to justice."

The argument took place beside a branch of Waitrose, an upscale British supermarket chain which has a presence in the Middle East, said witnesses.

Police were able to recover the murder weapon used to have the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall. There are no details provided other than a description that the weapon was a "sharp object."

Police added that identifying the suspect may prove difficult and could take time as the alleged woman was wearing a full abaya, niqab and gloves.

According to the New York Daily News, there is surveillance video available of the suspect, sporting a black abaya, black gloves and a black face cover, also called a Niqab, leaving the area of the attack.

The incident of the American Mother killed in Abu Dhabi mall may be described as an unexpected as Reem Island is reportedly mostly inhabited by expatriates. It also boasts the upmarket Boutik Mall with over 50 shops and restaurants, including the capital city's first Waitrose, Leopold's of London and La Brioche.
