For the first time after almost a decade of waiting, Floyd Mayweather Jr. admits he's open to sit down with Manny Pacquiao and arrange a fight that would shake the boxing world in great proportion.

Mayweather solidified his status as the best pugilist in his craft as he danced his way to a unanimous decision victory over Argentine brawler Marcos Maidana in their welterweight and light middleweight showdown last Saturday at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With the flawless victory, the 37-year old Grand Rapids native improve to 47-0, just two wins short of tying the record of the great Rocky Marciano, who finished his career with a 49-0 slate.

Mayweather, who added $32 million in guaranteed purse along with a big PPV share to his growing bank account, appears to be looking for more. But this time, it's more than a lucrative paycheck. Money May wants to finish his career with a bang, and the only way to do that is to go through his pound-for-pound rival - Pacquiao.

For the last seven years, boxing fans' dreams of seeing arguably the two finest boxers in the generation fighting inside the squared circle have been crushed over and over again because of money-sharing and stipulations disputes.

Mayweather had been dismissive of fighting what he called a 'washed-out' boxer like Pacquiao, saying he's not even in his level to take on seriously.

However, with his career entering his twilight, Money May seems to have a change of heart. And apparently, he admits a showdown with the Pacman has become too hard to resist.

"I'm gonna go and talk to my team and see what the future holds," Mayweather said in the post-fight interview via ESPN. "I don't know who I'm fighting in May but I expect to fight in May.

"Manny Pacquiao needs to focus on the guy in front of him. Once he gets past him, he can look to the future. If the Pacquiao fight presents itself let's make it happen."

At last, Mayweather finally considered Pacquiao as a serious candidate to be his next opponent after years of omitting the Filipino's name on his target list. Perhaps, the Pacman is the big surprise he was talking about at the BET Awards. And boy, what a gift it would be for boxing fans. Stay tune, May 2015!
