Senator Ted Cruz is strongly campaigning for the removal of the U.S. citizenship to those Americans who join the force of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and other terrorist groups when he decided to pass a bill on Monday which will be known as the Expatriate Terrorist Act.

The force of the ISIS militants has already taken over a huge part of Syria and Iraq and is even being strengthened as the war continues. With this, the situation becomes alarming since there are already reports claiming that some foreign nationals have already joined the force of the militant group. It actually becomes a great worry since those American and European fighters who have joined the group have their passports making them possible to go in and out of their own country which could later on give them easy access in terms of spreading the acts of terrorism.

Most officials along with Sen. Ted Cruz have already expressed their concerns regarding that matter. There is a huge possibility that those American fighters who united with terrorist groups could later on execute a terrorist act inside the United States especially when they are not put under thorough examination since they have their U.S. citizenship.

The said scenario could actually risk the lives of many American civilians living in the country. In the Expatriate Terrorist Act, Sen. Ted Cruz highlighted that those U.S. citizens who preferred to go to Syria or Iraq and join the terrorist group will be soon stripped off from their citizenships. He also stated that everything must be done out in order to prevent the possible attack that the terrorist group may carry out which could actually impose a big threat to many civilians.

U.S. President Barack Obama still hasn't announced any further actions after he approved the launching of the surveillance flights weeks ago. Before Sen. Ted Cruz passed his bill on Monday, CBS reports already said that a man holding a U.S. citizenship has already initiated a terrorist attack months ago by becoming a suicide bomber.
