Virginia navy base stabbing suspect has now been arrested, according to law enforcement officials. The one suspect of the Virginia navy base stabbing was accused of stabbing a fellow sailor near a naval hospital, which resulted in hours hunting for the man.

The Virginia navy base stabbing occurred on Friday, June 6. Because of the incident, a Virginia Navy installation had to go on a partial lockdown while officials searched for the suspect. According to CBS Local, the Virginia navy base stabbing began as two service members outside the Navy Exchange at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads, Portsmouth Annex had an argument.

The Navy has identified the suspect as Petty Officer 3rd Class Wilbur Harwell, and an update on his search says that Harwell has been arrested on Friday in nearby Virginia Beach, the same day that the Virginia navy base stabbing occurred.

Meanwhile, the victim of the Virginia navy base stabbing, Petty Officer 2nd Class Justin Powell, has suffered critical injuries in the neck and chest after Friday's event. However, a recent report by the Associated Press details that Powell is already listed in good condition.

Powell, the Virginia navy base stabbing victim, is reportedly a native of Butler County in Sarver, Pennsylvania. His condition was last updated on Saturday as the 25-year-old was still in critical condition after surgery on Friday.

Capt. Jake Johansson, of the U.S. Navy said of the Virginia navy base stabbing victim's condition, "His parents, Justin's parents, are driving in from Pennsylvania. He's a native of Sarver, Pa., and he did join the Navy in July of 2007."

According to WHSV, The stabbing attack on Powell early Friday resulted in an hours-long lockdown and manhunt before the assailant was arrested.

An unidentified person at the base has said of the Virginia navy base stabbing incident, "It was scary at first, unbelievable, and then was like, wow this is really happening because police were coming by, so it was like it's happening. This is not a drill."

Virginia navy base stabbing was committed by Petty Officer 3rd Class Wilbur Harwell, and so far, the motive for the incident at the Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads has still not been identified. There is still no word as to what charges Harwell may face due to his attack.
