Seattle Pacific University shooting have left at least one person dead while three others injured, reports say. The Seattle Pacific University shooting happened on Thursday afternoon in the school's science and engineering building, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The Washington Post reports that there was originally some uncertainty from law enforcement officials with regard to how many injured people there were because of the Seattle Pacific University shooting. This first resulted in confusion on the number of victims but reports have confirmed four.

The Seattle Fire Department said that the victims have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds that ranged "from minor to life threatening."

According to the Associated Press, one of the Seattle Pacific University shooting victims included a man in his 20s who was taken to Harborview hospital and later died.

KIRO-TV also reports that officials at the hospital said another victim of the Seattle Pacific University shooting was a 20-year-old woman. She has sustained life-threatening injuries because of the Seattle Pacific University shooting and is currently undergoing surgery. Meanwhile, two men, one 24 and the other 22, were in satisfactory condition.

Authorities had said that they were looking for an additional suspect after a gunman was taken into custody. The Huffington Post reports that police told of their search for the second suspect via Twitter. However, shortly after 4 p.m., police said there are no other suspects being sought and that they have already apprehended the one and only suspect of the Seattle Pacific University shooting.

The Seattle Pacific University shooting occurred as a gunman suddenly opened fire in the school's building foyer at around 3:30 p.m. The weapon the gunman used was a shotgun. Seattle PD Capt. Chris Fowler said at an evening press conference that the Seattle Pacific University shooting stopped only when a student building monitor disarmed the gunman as he tried reloading his weapon. Because the suspect was apparently subdued after he was disarmed, other students went in to help the student building monitor. Fowler detailed that students used pepper spray in order to subdue the suspect.

Fowler said, "They were able to pin the shooter to the ground until police arrived." After a short time, the gunman from the Seattle Pacific University shooting was reportedly taken into custody.

Meanwhile, the university has addressed the Seattle Pacific University shooting incident via Twitter. They said that the shooting took place near Otto Miller Hall. SWAT officers checked additional SPU buildings around the private college after capturing the suspect, police said.

According to the Huffington Post, the school lockdown
ended a little after 5 p.m. During this time, the student union building was reportedly already prepared to conduct a grief counseling session for the students and faculty.

The Seattle Times reports that they have interviewed one of the students. The physics student told a Seattle Times reporter that he literally walked through "pools of blood" when police evacuated his building after the Seattle Pacific University shooting.

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray (D) said in a news conference, "This is a tragic moment for Seattle and a tragic moment for America once again."
