The Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi Destroys an Obamacare Myth

Mar 07, 2014 12:03 PM EST

Just ask anyone. America has the best healthcare system in the world. That's thanks in part to the fact that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the United States spent more on health care per capita ($8,608), and more on health care as percentage of its GDP (17.2%), than any other nation in 2011. You get what you pay for.

But since Obama decreed his universal healthcare as law of the land, the quality of healthcare that Americans receive is going to decrease dramatically. Todd Wilemon, Fox New Business Contributor makes the argument clear and simple, by standardizing health care we are going to slip into a 'third world status' and poor people will refuse to foot their fair share of the health care bill because 'everyone wants a free lunch'.

Mandvi travels to the third world of health care to see just what the future of America looks like and finds some pretty surprising answers.
