Priyanka Chopra Talks About Her Love For Travel

Mar 31, 2017 04:52 AM EDT

One of the hottest Indian stars nowadays, Priyanka Chopra, is more than just a pretty face. After winning the Miss World pageant back in 2000, she has evolved into a successful actress with numerous awards as well as a philanthropist with her close work with UNICEF.

But just like any other individual, Priyanka loves to travel as well. In between her busy schedules, she sometimes sneaks some little weekend getaways to the beach. In an interview with Conde Nast Traveler through Fox News, she revealed how important travel is to her life.

"I think choosing to travel is important anyways," she said. "I think in 2017, a lot more because I think it's very important for people to understand each other's cultures and the differences between us, so we can find similarities and live as one people instead of so many differences. And that happens when you travel, when you travel you learn about cultures, people, and how there are so many differences but we are humans. In 2017, that will be a really important thing for people to do."

As a kid, Priyanka has already traveled so much since her parents worked as doctors in the army. She also said in her interview that it used to bug her as a kid, not having to stay in one place for so long, but over time it made her "very disciplined" and it has taught her how to handle whatever life throws at her.

Because of her constant time flying in airplanes, she thinks her time in the air is home. Priyanka switches her time between her home in Mumbai and the US, so she constantly travels a lot.

Her most recent travel escapade looked like a luxurious beach vacation based on her Instagram posts. Although she didn't say where, the pictures showed her being really relaxed and laid-back.

When asked what Priyanka's travel essentials are, she confessed she's not a light packer. According to Elle, some of her must-haves during travel include her phones, her Dre headphones, her favorite handbags, a few medicines, and a few books to read while on the plane.
