‘Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation’ Episode 11 Recap: Sugimoto Terufumi’s Final Sprint!

The latest episode of "Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation" gave fans a bitter-sweet chapter as the exhilarating first-year welcoming race drew to an end. The Sugimoto brothers have finally caught up with the elite SS first-years. The episode is titled "Conclusion" and the sixth member of the Inter High line-up will be revealed in this chapter.

Terufumi and Sadatoki are turning the odds to their favor and are making up for the skill difference with sheer determination and willpower. Obviously, the Kaburagi and Danchiku is miles away from the brothers in terms of skills and cycling talent. However, the siblings are not backing down. Kaburagi even nearly lost his nerve when the duo managed to ride in front of them.

Thanks to Danchiku's words of encouragement, they managed to pass the brothers and take the lead. When the riders are just 200 meters away from the finish line, Sadatoki fell behind leaving his brother the only one to chase after the SS members. In the final stretch, Terufumi is clearly at a disadvantage with Danchiku assisting Kaburagi for the goal sprint. However, Terufumi made up for this with his long-distance sprint.

According to Lost in Anime, finish line scene is very heartbreaking especially the time when Terufumi thought that he won the race. It's very disappointing, not because of the poor story but because the whole mini arc made the viewers root for Terufumi. In fact, it is very painful to watch as Terufumi swallowed his tears and laughed it off knowing that it is his final chance to join the Inter High team.

After the action-packed race, the episode went on for a breather showing Onoda still having difficulties being a senior. It is very hard to imagine him imposing himself as a senior to others particularly his down to earth and humble attitude is what makes him likable. However, in riding, Onoda is a different man as he easily earned Issa's respect when the otaku cyclist showed his high cadence climb.

Apparently, the seniors who graduated earlier is not done in the series. Kinjou and Arakita made an appearance as a college student in Younan University. Both of them are still riding bikes and are both part of the same college cycling club as reported by Anime News Network. The episode even hinted that we may see them race against Fukutomi and Shinkai that is now part of the Meisou University.
