After some time, the upcoming sequel "Injustice 2" is finally getting another story trailer, which further explains the game's plot. The teaser also happens to reveal some new characters who will be joining the roster of DC super heroes and villains.

The newest trailer, as reported by Coming Soon, shows new confirmed characters like Poison Ivy, Robin, Brainiac and a pre-order exclusive, Darkseid. Aside from the already given plots about heroes trying to kill off everybody else, a new thicker plot begins to unfold with several characters, which give them more reason to dish out mayhem among each other.

One particular plot in the first game was Superman who happens have literally killed The Joker as reported by Digital Spy. The Man of Steel has been officially defeated in the first "Injustice" game, yet he is still held captive and alive. However, a group who calls themselves "The Society" aims to get rid of Batman along with the other heroes from within. This was all before the story picks up with the second game.

In the latest teaser, the spotlight for being the cause of all the shenanigans seems to be aimed at the new character, Brainiac, who happens to be causing the heroes to beat each other up once again. However, its is not all that clear how he had been this in the trailer.

The newest trailer also indicates that some heroes might will be teaming up with different fellow heroes and former nemesis and villains causing an entirely different story flow. However, Evil Superman still seems to be of a big concern as well. Things worsen as Brainiac aims to take advantage of the situation, which even warranted him to narrate the trailer himself.

"Injustice 2" is scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 16. There's also a release scheduled for the iOS and Android platforms, but there's no word for a PC release as of yet.
