“This Is Us” Spoiler Alert: Milo Ventimigla Reveals Jack’s Fate That Will Make Fans Sob

Oct 28, 2016 11:27 PM EDT

The Tuesday episode of "This Is Us" titled as "Game Plan" confirmed the worst fears of the fans. Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) is indeed dead and details how or when it happened is not yet released. What was revealed is that he at least made it to 2006, when he and Kate (Chrissy Metz) watched a Steelers game together.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the episode also featured a collection of ashes in a golden urn is kept over the fireplace in daughter Kate's living room, where she consistently watches football with her father every Sunday.

This might be the explanation needed as to why Rebecca (Mandy Moore) is married to Jack's best friend Miguel (Jon Huertas).

"Before the end of the season, we'll have a greater idea of what happened," Moore told E! News.

"That's the nice thing about this show is I think what the writers and what [creator] Dan [Fogelman] are wanting to do is definitely explore that idea of a family and how big and wide that can get, and understanding that things do happen in life-death happens, birth happens, life comes, life goes," Ventimiglia explains. "Even though someone is gone, it doesn't mean they're gone and not in your everyday life."

"They're not out of the picture completely, which is I think what episode five really summed up so well," Moore adds. "I think the episode is so all encompassing and really describes what the show is about and what life is about, and it's so tangible."

Jack's approaching death is totally heartbreaking for fans because they will not be able to catch the character for a weekly basis. His upcoming death will indeed make viewers experience the drama and emotions that come along with losing a well-loved TV character.

Meanwhile, "This Is Us" airs at Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
