All-NBA Team 2016: Why James Harden, Anthony Davis Missed The Cut

New Orleans Pelicans big man Anthony Davis missed out on an extra $24 million dollars resulting in not making to any of the three All-NBA teams announced on Thursday afternoon.

Davis, who signed a five-year, $145 million extension with the team last July missed the final 14 games of the regular season with knee and shoulder injuries.

Davis the New Orleans cap would have increased from 25 to 30 if he had earned first, second or third-team All NBA honors twice under his rookie deal calculated ESPN's Darren Rovell.

Davis, missed 21 games who was injured throughout the 2015-16 season also didn't earn starter status in the All-Star game. That disabled another route for him to earn this bonus.

After earning the rookie deal, Davis has no other avenue to pursue here. He's simply out nearly a quarter of $100 million over the next five years, representing about $5 million per season.

Davis had averaged 24.3 points per game, 10.3 rebounds and two blocks in 61 games. George was at 23.1 points, seven rebounds and 4.1 assists in 81 games while Aldridge had averages of 18 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in 74 games.

A panel of 129 sports writers and broadcasters were asked to vote for two guards, two forwards and a center for each of the respective All-NBA teams.

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard was a beneficiary of the rule and earned an extra $13 million, according to ESPN, after being named second-team All-NBA.

As it relates to the All-NBA team announcements, Draymond Green (second team) and LaMarcus Aldridge (third team) were the two power forwards selected over Davis.

However, Thursday's announcement was the end of New Orleans Pelicans Anthony Davis's chances for that massive bonus.
