Paper Towns Trailer: Nat Wolff, Cara Delevingne, And More! John Green Talks About The Movie
Paper Towns Trailer - The trailer for the new film "Paper Towns" is out. Published on Mar. 19, the "Paper Towns" trailer shows a sneak peek at the film adapted and a follow-up of sorts to author John Green's bestselling novel, "The Fault in Our Stars."
However, while "Fault" had been a tear-jerker film, "Paper Towns" is more of a love story but with the coming-of-age adventure of the main character Quentin, portrayed by Nat Wolff.
The "Paper Towns" trailer first begins with the line: "The way I figure it, everyone gets a miracle. My miracle was I ended up living across the street from Margo Roth Spiegelman."
Quentin and his gorgeous, misunderstood neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman, portrayed by Cara Delevingne, are the film's central characters. Margo played a girl who loved mysteries so much that apparently, she became one herself.
Both central characters grew up together. However, by their senior year of high school, the two barely speak.
In the "Paper Towns" trailer, that changes when Margo suddenly shows up at Qunetin's window one night, and asks him to play a couple of pranks on her ex-boyfriend. The two then spend the night going on an adventure through their hometown.
Suddenly though, Margo goes missing the next morning, and what's left behind is a series of vague clues for Quentin and his friends to decipher, hoping the clues would lead him to her.
The first "Paper Towns" trailer shows just enough of the search and the mystery-filled adventure Quentin and his friends encounter. The "Paper Towns" trailer has the many feels expected from the film, and as the trailer description says, it "is equal parts hilarious and moving."
As Quentin and his friends are shown in the "Paper Towns" trailer tracking down Margo, Quentin is bound to find a deeper understanding for true friendship and true love.
The launch for the first "Paper Towns" trailer was held Thursday, and the book's author John Green was able to visit Yahoo Movies in New York City to share key moments from the clip.
According to Green, some of Margo's actions were inspired by his own penchant for troublemaking during his teens.
"The catfish thing, leaving a fish inside of someone's clothing - I have done that," said Green. "It was a full-sized catfish. I also did it once with a lobster."
The 38-year-old author revealed that he felt trapped in a theme park-filled city that to others is a city providing an escape from reality.
"I have a very complicated relationship with Orlando," revealed Green. "I love the people in Orlando, and there's a lot I love about the city, but when I was growing up there, I definitely felt constrained by it, and I felt like it was this tourist-trap destination where real people couldn't really live. And of course that's not true, but I definitely drew on a lot of that."
The "Paper Towns" trailer also shows other actors starring in the film including Halston Sage, Austin Abrams, Jaz Sinclair and Justice Smith. The film "Paper Towns" will hit theaters Jul. 24, 2015.
