A first-class ticket usually qualifies passengers for a few extra perks, but a Chinese man has figured out how to make full use out of his ticket without even flying. A genius has figured out a way to score free meals for a year by taking advantage of a Chinese airline and a first-class ticket.

The man purchased a first-class ticket on China Eastern Airlines and used it to get a year's worth of free meals at the VIP lounge in Xi'an airport, the Malaysian Chinese newspaper Kwong Wah Yit Poh has learned.

This is how the man was able to get away with this scheme. He showed his real first-class ticket to the lounge staff before his trip, hung out in the lounge and ate his meal just as any other first class passenger would.  However unlike every first-class passenger, he never boarded his flight. Instead of flying, he would change his flight's departure to another day and then would show up the next day at the airport with his newly issued ticket with the day's date on it. He's then walk into the lounge, eat his meal again and then change his flight date on his ticket. He would repeat this process over and over for about a year.

Kwong Wah Yit Poh said that airline staff members didn't discover his scheme until thy realized that the itinerary for the man's ticket had been postponed more than 300 times over a the course of a year.

The man still never took that flight. China Eastern Airlines started to investigate the issue and the man had simply cancelled his ticket before it expired.  He got a full refund and more than 300 meals.  A China Eastern Airlines spokeswoman told the newspaper that there is no way to stop someone from doing this "rare act" again.
