Jay Z is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the rapper didn't die. It seems as if people are falling for an Internet hoax based on a satirical article that says Jay Z died inside. Jay Z is just fine.

Many are coming across an article by The Rap Insider which reads "Rapper Jay Z Found Dead Inside At 43." The article goes on to say "The world mourns today as Shawn Carter, AKA Jay Z, was found dead inside at the young age of 43. While the official cause of death is still being investigated by Rap Genius editors and urban studies Ph.D.s, many have speculated that Jay Z killed himself inside."

Upon first reading, it does sound like Jay Z actually died, but what some readers are failing to get it that the article is a joke, saying that Jay Z died inside, not indoors, and that he's lost his unique sound and has given into the high life of "champagne and corporate sponsorships."

"Carter was born December 4, 1969 in Brooklyn, which has also lost its unique soul and sound. The borough is survived by low-rise condominiums, secondhand plaid shirt retailers, and beards," the fake obituary continues. "Jay Z is survived by his wife Beyoncé Knowles and his daughter Blue Ivy, who will never have the opportunity to live a fulfilling and invigorating life of successful crack dealing and will ultimately end up majoring in English at NYU before dying inside at 21. A funeral will be held at the Barclays Center next week. Jay Z will perform tracks off Magna Carta Holy Grail from his open casket, which is sponsored by Samsung."

The Rap Insider creates satirical articles. The site's description reads, "The Rap Insider is a satirical music news publication. Any resemblance to the truth is purely coincidental or a product of espionage on the part of rival blogs; all references to famous individuals are meant as fictional portrayals. The Rap Insider  is intended for a mature, sophisticated, and discerning audience that understands that a website containing articles about a time traveling Kanye West, Birdman spreading Avian Flu, Dr. Dre having any bit of medical expertise, and Rick Ross as Snorlax can't possibly be real."

Some didn't quite get the joke and have taken to Twitter to mourn and question the death of the rapper. Some examples of Tweets include:

"Jay z dead I hope this a rumor"
"IS JAY Z DEAD OR NOT SOMEONE TELL ME"
"Moment of silence for the greatest"
"can't believe jay-z was found dead inside. tragic"
"WOAH WOAH WOAH!!! Jay Z is dead??? Holy sh**!!"
"Damn RIP Jay-Z /:"
