McDonald's is ending its relationship with Heinz ketchup. After being betrayed, the fast-food chain is breaking up and moving on to another condiment brand.

McDonalds will no longer use Heinz ketchup due to "recent management changes" in the Heinz company, CNN Money reports. Heinz recently made installed their a former top executive for competitor Burger King as their CEO.

Despite the messy breakup, McDonald's claims that most customers won't notice a difference as Heinz products weren't used in large markets.

"We only used Heinz in the Minneapolis and Pittsburgh markets in the U.S," Becca Hary, McDonalds' director of global media relations told CNN. "Globally, Heinz represents a small percentage of McDonald's condiment and sauce business."

In a statement to the Huffington Post, McDonald's says "We value the relationship we've maintained with Heinz for more than 40 years. As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time. We have spoken to Heinz and plan to work together to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the McDonald's restaurant business, and are confident that there will be no impact to our business, our customers and our great tasting food at McDonald's."

Hary says that McDonalds will have a "a smooth and orderly transition" to another ketchup brand in Minneapolis and Pittsburgh.

A senior representative from Heinz confirmed to CNN that the ketchup company had "virtually no business" with the fast-food chain.

The change is condiments isn't the only adjustment McDonald's is making. The company is also changing the dollar menu and making it not quite a dollar anymore. They've added pricier options as sales have only grown slightly over the past year.

Burger King, with its new Heinz CEO Bernardo Hees, also underwent a menu change lately.
