Rapper Lil' Wayne has finally revealed the true reason behind his six-day long hospitalization: he has epilepsy.

Initially, many believed the musician was in ill-health as a result of narcotics overuse, particularly that of sizzurp: a cough syrup strengthened with codeine and promethazine.

He had multiple seizures on the set of Nicki Minaj's new single, "High School," and was taken to the hospital immediately. He was released almost a week later.

Wayne's bodyguard found the Louisiana native unconscious on his bedroom floor, TMZ reported. A few rumors had Wayne in a coma, struggling to survive.

President of his rap label Young Money, Mack Maine, dashed the reports immediately.

Wayne has taken things into his own hand in clearing things up, calling into LA's Power 106 on Thursday, for his first interview since he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

"The bad news is I'm an epileptic, I'm prone to seizures," he said, not mentioning whether or not his condition is grand mal or petit mal. "Like, this isn't my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I've had a bunch of seizures, y'all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad 'cause I had three of them in a row, and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 percent. Basically, I could have died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plan stress, no rest, overworking myself."

Could this be a serious confession of an even more serious medical condition or a hoax to cover a dire drug habit? Lil' Wayne expressed distaste with publicity on just how heavy a drug-user he is in the past.

In 2009, director Adam Bhala Lough released a documentary titled, "The Carter" that followed Wayne's recording of album "Tha Carter III", 2007-2008.

In the beginning, the rapper endorsed the film, then evidently tried to block it from being entered into the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, as it depicted Wayne's excessive use of cough syrup and marijuana.
